    Default No. Bowls per log

There was a bit of comment earlier about the number of bowls per slice of log
For a log of approx 320mm I get 20 bowls from a piece about the same length as the dia.

As the log get smaller I loose the inner little bowls.

Theoretically one can get heaps out of a log that size, but in practice you'll be hard pressed to get the 20 of reasonable shape.

How do you cut them out or do you have a bandsaw with a reall high throat?

Yep, the inner ones are a bit small but they sell quick at the markets so help to pay for the wood and I can sit back with a higher price on the bigger bowls.
    outer - 290 x 80
    mid - 200 x 65
Inner- 110 x 30 triangular with slight outward flare

Bandsaw has a 305 mm throat so I cut the logs to just fit.
Use a Slicer to separate the bowls.
