For years I have been collecting different timbers available in Australia.
I now have about 100 different species in my timber rack.

One of my souvenir product lines is timber bookmarks, which could readily lend themselves to the alternative use as a collection of timber samples.
I have mainly Oz timbers but there are a few introduced species included.

I am wondering if anyone is interested in a collection of about 100 timber samples. I won't know the exact quantity or the total cost of a collection until I catalog all the timbers I have but the cost will be $2.50 per sample.

Finish.
I finish my production bookmarks with lacquer or poly, and am inclined to finish the timber collection with lacquer on one face and orange shellac on the other face. I expect it will help our clients make their timber selections a bit easier when they commission pieces from us.

I think a finish is desirable to prevent the wood color changing due to oxidisation of a raw timber surface.

Comments about the type of finish are invited
