    Default Paulownia for cray pots

Ive been approached by some cray fishermen to cut material for new pots. Does any of you think paulownia may be a viable option for battens instead of pine?

    Default Paulownia battens

Hi Nifty I suppose I should post on this but I know nothing about cray pots.
Paulownia is a 'soft' timber even more than WRC which most people know. It is a lot more expensive than pine. These are the negatives. The positives are the light weight for handling, ease to make (good wood to work with) and the ability to last in sea water.
