Coronet precision metal lathe
Does anyone out there know much about the coronet metal lathes?
I'd like to get in touch and ask a few questions.
In particular, what is the headstock taper?
Thanks
Andrew

Do you have a set of inside calipers long enough to go the length of the taper in the bore.

Hi,
No, I don't have an inside caliper which could measure the inner taper diameter.
Its not an MT. I've tried a 4 and 5. 4 is small and 5, the tang doesn't fit the hole.

Unless you can find someone to tell you what it is you would have to measure it to check against different taper forms.

Going by the sellers description of the hole behind the chuck being 31mm you have possably 4 options.
M/T 4 common
Jacob JT4 a short taper
Jarno 9 not very common
Browne & Sharpe 10 but is closer to 32 mm on the large diameter.

Thanks
I'll check those out.
I measure the outer taper diameter to be 1 13/32" (1.40625") which is a bit of a funny size.

Could then also be a 4.5 M/T.
