Rob,
It would be great to meet you in person.
The TasmanMensShed is open, Monday and Thursday, if you are on the Tasman Peninsula.
If you are travelling here on any other days, please let me know and we will arrange to meet up for a cuppa.
I look forward to that day.

Paul my sons wedding is on the 12th of November , in Hobart .
We will be there a few days before , and after , cruising about (looking at boats no doubt) . So I'd like to meet you , in that time , and AD , and any other of the scurvy crew down there.
Regards Rob J.

Tasmanian Forest Intergovernmental Agreement
I attended the Rally for Tasmania's future in Hobart yesterday, this was a rally organised by one forestry worker's wife (mainly through facebook) in support of retaining access to a reasonable and sustainable area of old growth forest in Tasmania.
There were around 2,000 people there who are directly affected by the Tasmanian Forest Intergovernmental Agreement at the rally. Any compensation coming out of this agreement will only go to those who are current contract holders.
I have operated a part-time small business selling Tasmanian Special Species Timber for 14 years, I have not had a supply contract with Forestry Tasmania since 2001 but have bought my logs since then from Forestry Tasmania in smaller quantities. I doubt that I will be able to continue to access logs or even be entitled to receive any compensation for this loss. I'm absolutely disgusted at the agreement which has been signed and the clandestine manner in which changes occurred to the circulated document in the last few days prior to signature.Kev

Its a hell of a way to run YOUR government Kev , you have every right to be angry !.
It could be an interesting week , this coming week or 2 .
Seems to me people are starting to wake up to what is going on , and are getting very angry , right around the country !.

No news fro me Rob.
I don't watch TV news any more. (one sided emotional reporting with no balance.)
I don't listen to wireless news any more. (one sided emotional reporting with no balance.)
I don't buy or read the MUCKERY any more. Except for Sunday so we get the TV guide.
Again, one sided emotional reporting with no balance.
You may detect a common thread in my statements. ?
I am ashamed to say, I lost interest in our States future with the Franklin issue. That was really the beginning of the end for Tas.
It has been down hill since then.
I hope the last person to leave, turns the light out, because Tassie as she is, could not afford the power bill.
Tasmania could be the vegetable garden of Australia. I believe we could also be the biggest suppliers of hardwoods and minor species, for any small industry requirements. Boat Building. Furniture. Craft woods.
Sadly our future will be lost.

I see the greenies are targetting Harvey Norman now , because he sells (gasp , shudder) furniture that may contain old growth timber !.
So , if these idiots can stop HN from selling furniture that might contain old growth timber , what next ?.
