Why use old technology, have you tried newer EPOXY GLUES & RESINS .

These are easy to use and mix , plus have the advantage of gap filling and do not sag in overhead joins.

I realize that resorcinol glue is very good , however the ease of mixing epoxy and it's availability , ease of clean up, and thrixotropic (no sag) proprieties, give it a distinctive edge.

personal opinion as I have used epoxy to build 3 boats already and I will be building another shortly.

Joints need to fit perfectly with resorcinol and it's also temperature and humidity sensitive as well. Plus you need heavy clamping pressure to make resorcinol work and did I mention the nasty, dark purple glue line . . .

Don't get me wrong, I use to use this stuff quite a bit and sometimes still do, though not nearly as much as I once did.

    Default Gone with Epoxy

    Hi all

I went with Bote-Cote epoxy with the three different levels of additives depending if it is fairing, strong or hard. Its working out fine.

    Thanks for al the inputs.

Good choice. I use Bote-Cote now after it was recommended to me on this forum. West System is fine but it was making me itch like crazy inspite of wearing two pairs of protective gloves!

WS's amine blush was a nuisance too, Bote-Cote doesn't have that problem.
