Hi All. it's been a while since I last posted, Just finished a Vase or is it Hollow Form? I think the opening's too big for a hollow form, Maybe someone here will let me know. I made it following Ray Allen's method.
It's made up of 225 segments, 128 just for the center ring, it took me over 7 hours just to cut and glue the center ring.
Wood used is Main body Beech= Red Gum= Box= New Guinea Ebony and Merbau.
Size 150 x 85 mm wall thicknes 5 mm , finished with EEE and Shellawax.
    Cheers Tony.

    Very nice, (excellent)

Joints are tight and finish is very nice. the contrast of the timbers works well, and the piece looks in proportion.

G`day nice work.If you are thinking about entering the piece in competition it is definatley would go in the laminated or built up section a hollow form is is measured by the largest opening which in this case would be diameter of the bowl hope that makes sense.
