Looking for Brass knurled knobs
G'day all,
This is my first post so be gentle. I an looking for a supplier for some brass knurled nuts for use on a couple of set-up guages that I am making for myself and as gifts for some friends. Numerous searches on the net have been fruitless. The guys at Bunnies special orders had no idea either. The plans call for 10-32 brass knurled nuts to fit on 10-32 x 1 3/4" brass machine screw.
The nearest I have found is a brass knob from Rockler. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Cheers B.C

Universal Bolt Bloke have an amazing array of anything that can be screwed bolted or whatever, BJ Bearings is another option or just try a google search.
After posting I recalled using them in my electronic days, try a better electronic supply place or electrical wholesaler.Last edited by Iain; 20th January 2005 at 07:16 PM. Reason: brain kicked in after posting

Try Coventry Fasteners. They have a lot of the stuff that used to be carried by hardware stores. Another option is Dana Ridge and Hafele may have what you want though I haven't specifically seen what you are after in their printed catalogues.

Back to the drawing board. The nuts would cost me less than $10.00 but shipping from the U.S takes this up to $75.00. I will need to keep looking for an Oz supplier.

BC. email them for a shipping quote. The rates posted on their order form are bull. When you order you then enter any freight charge that comes up and then override it in the comments section with the quoted method and price you select. I have done this with Woodpeckers on several occasions.
Why they dont change their shipping set up is beyond me because I know of a few people who have been put off ordering from them for this reason.

Coventry Fasteners - Nil, however, they *do* have 10-32 knurled steel nuts. You have given no indication of where you are, but the Melb number is 03 9315 2711.
