Default Strato shed to prelaid slab erection process

I have my shed and my slab laid ready to be erected on.

I've looked at the installation DVD strato provided and they show the shed first, lay concrete second method of erection. This has left me with a few questions.

    1) since I don't know the exact hole positions on the slab would it be best to somewhat loosely erect the shed frame on the slab first without bolting down. Then when placed in position mark the holes then drill?

    2) In the DVD they show the wall sheeting being screwed onto the wall frames while the frame is on the ground. They then lift the completed wall into position. Is this the best method for slab first erection or should I build the frame first and then screw on the sheets?

In general I just need some guidance to fill in the gaps as the stratco instructions are somewhat short and not detailed enough.

I don't want this to sound sarcastic but did you try asking Stratco?

Good point. Everytime I go to stratco they don't seem like they know what their doing, and I don't really trust them. They will just try and push their shed erectors on me because they want money.

I trust more what everyone on this forum says because a lot of people have probably build sheds before.

I've only ever put up a small garden shed by putting the sheeting on the frame while the frame was on the ground. I think it is easier to do this if you want all the holes to line up. Once the frame is bolted to the slab then it's much harder to get the holes on the frame and sheeting to align.

I erected my 6 x 9m Stracto shed about a month ago. If you get the pad done first, you would erect the shed on the pad and then drill through the holes on the bottom of the uprights. The uprights will have plates welded to them with holes in them. You drill through these holes into the concrete, then fill them with a two pack chemical mix and screw the bolt into them. (some thing like that, check out ramset chem bolts).

I built the shed first and then had the pad poured inside it. To keep the concrete off the colorbond sheets, Stratco sell an gal extrusion that screws onto the bottom of the sheets and goes down to the ground. The concrete is then poured against this extrusion so there is no gap and no concrete on the color bond.

I built the walls on the ground and then lifted them up into the holes. It was an easy way to do it. It is doable with two guys but can be hard. If you have two mates it would be easier. Use the extrusions for the end walls bolted to the top of the walls to help push them up and support before securing with straps. One tip that is a real life saver. Grab your self a set of tie down ratchet straps from Bunnings. A set of 8 cost me $80. I used two straps on the corners of the two walls hooked up to star pickets driven into the ground. This allowed me to loose and tighten as desired to move the top of the walls to align them for bolting the roof frames up. It also meant I could sleep at night if the wind came up before I had poured the concrete. I now have 8 straps for the ute

Edit: Woops, just reread your post and realized you pad is already done. If that is the case, I would definitely erect the wall frames, make sure it is square and then chembolt http://www.ramset.com.au/Document/Se...ical-Anchoring the sucker to the ground. Then I would sheet the structure and then attach the roof structure.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate.

I would suspect that is because they are staff / sales people who sell bits of metal mainly and shed kits by default and are trained in how to use eftpos and not how to build a shed. Not a ery good way to do business in my books.
