Wall Mounted Tool Cabinets Ideas
Hi all,
I have scanned many of the threads for suggestions on the construction of and tool hanging methods of wall mounted tool cabinets without success so I am starting another thread. My apologises if there has been thread in recent times and I haven’t located it.
What I am looking for ideas on a wall mounted cabinet to house woodworking tools as I keep my mechanical and electrical type tools in individual tool boxes (photos of suggestions would be great). Currently my woodworking tools are housed in my old Army trunk with three levels of pullout dividers.
I would prefer a lockable cabinet design as I prefer to hide my tools from praying eyes through the shed windows.
Thanks

It is always a good idea to have some organised storage for your tools.
You are right - there have been lots of threads on this topic and there are dozens, if not hundreds of solutions.
Here is what is available on this forum:

There are plenty of images through google - eg:

If you are feeling really adventurous here is the holy grail of lockable tool chests:

Thanks SG,
Yes I have since discovered LOTS of suggested types and sizes of tool cabinets in Google search, not sure what key words I was searching on yesterday but today I have used “wood tool cabinets” and there are thousands as you pointed out. Yesterday I got only a handful amongst everything other that what I was looking for.
Having seen some of the photos I am not sure I will ever have the large array of tools that some people seem to have, I guess having starting this hobby so late in life I will never gather so many tools as some.
Again thanks. I have started planning the cabinet by laying all my tools on the floor to get an idea of the required size and allowing for some additional tools along the way.
Thanks again

Hello Navara,
Here is a hand tool cabinet I built a couple of years ago. I used plans from Fine Woodworking magazine. If you want to get better results on google try Hand Tool Cabinet. That is what most magazines and books refer to them as.
The thing I like is making all the custom tool holders for your tools. Also I still have the inside of both inside doors and the inside still empty. This thing has plenty of room for future tools.
The case is 3/4 Ply and the front, back and drawers are 1/2" ply and I used some Pecan hardwood for edging.
Here are a few pics.
