Default The Colorado Basement Shed - WIP

Actual cutting was done on the table saw! We’re getting closer to true workshop status!

    http://secondwindworkshop.blogspot.com/2012/02/co-workshop-update-7-i-made-first-cut.html

I'm knocking out quite a few of these updates lately, so I thought I'd just start rolling everything into a single WIP. Thanks Bob!

Looks like it will be very cosie, I take it by the windows you're not completely under ground, that would make a big difference to the space, light, air flow etc.

Yep, it's a walk-out basement, so I've got windows and a pair of french doors that exit out onto a patio slab that's covered by a deck above.

It'll be nice in the summer to wheel the planer out onto the shaded patio and keep the really big mess outside.

    Default Argh! Two inches!

I'm kicking myself, but fortunately it's slavagable in the end.

I started to organize the placement of the cabinets we picked up a few months back.

Do any of you have a work area with a lower bench height for assembly/finishing?

Good idea use as much storage as you can and place a piece of ply on top and there's your assembly area.

I have recently found a small scissor lift that can take 500kgs that I will buy once I'm in my new workshop. I can bolt a bench top or sheet of ply to it and use it for all those awkward height jobs.
They are only like a large for wheel trolley. $299AU

I'll have to check out a scissor lift. Not enough room for a fork lift!

I decided to build up the height of the recycled cabinets and then make a dedicated low height assmebly table. I’m shamelessly stealing another woodworker's design for his rolling assmebly table!

The hockey pics are up...now it's a shop! Another good weekend with some quality time down in the basement. I might actually get to start woodworking soon!
