Default X posted - What paint to use?

I want to decorate my harp with some scrolls and leaves on the soundboard. The finish is shellac with estapol over the top.

What sort of paint should I use? I was going to use acrylic.

    Thanks!

Assuming it's just the designs you want to paint not the whole sound box, yes acrylic would work but if you are slightly more artistic I suggest you try Alkyds, they are like an artists oil paint but dry much faster than oil and by comparison much slower than acrylics so give you the best of both worlds.
