    thanks for the comments all

it has given me a few frustrations . veneering the inside turned out to be a pain as it was hard to get the pieces lined up (my hands are too big) so after i have done the floor i wil need to have a good look and correct all the mistakes before i do the final sanding. but i do love sitting at my workbench and working on it.

my aim is to finish her by christmas but i am not going to rush it

and no wories Aussie . have you got any pics of your stage coach ?

now that the inside is veneered i have started on buidlign the outside. first is a construction of boxwood that later on wil be rounded of by sanding so that the coach cabin has a nice rounded look. in the second picture i put al lthe bits and pieces i have worked on so far together to give an idea of how it wil all fit together

after the tedious sanding i did this week i decided to try out my rotary tool on it. i was afraid before that i would end up siding too much and that i would have to redo it. but i was pleasantly surprised on how quick and how good it turned out

gled a few bits back on that had coem off wiht the sanding and while that was drying i sanded down (by hand) the haulbeams.

i have now started on veneering the outside of the cabin. i am going to take it really slow and make sure i dont leave any gaps liek what happened on the inside as any errors will be easily visible

i have also revisted the wheels and finaly made some progress on them.

    thanks for the comments

first picture shows the current progress of the veneering. its comming along slowly mostly because i add one bit of wood and let it set before i add the next. thishoepely ensures i wil have no gaps
luckily there are lots of other parts i am workign on to keep me busy
i am painting the wheels yellow (have to get some more paint this weekend) and shuold soon eb able to start assembling them
after the hatbox and suitcase i am now also finishing the big trunk just need to add the locks
the winch is all veneered and has gotten a coat of clear varnish , also i finished one of the leather sides of it.

HI Adrieke I have just picked up on your post what a fine job you are doing I will follow your progress now as you go.
In one of your other posts you mentioned you have built some other models would it be possible to put them up. May be you can start an album on the forum and show them there if you wanted to. Anyway the main thing is to have a bit of fun with what you are doing keep up the great work.

    one side done veneering.

had to stop with the wheels as they broke apart when putting in the spokes. the 4 quarters just dont stay together. thinking of drilling holes trough them and then join them with a wooden peg.

although i havent been online much i have been slowly but steadily working on the coach. the two outside sides e of the cabin are now veneered. i am now repairing some if the inside veneering that god damaged with clamping and sanding.

i also need to fix up some of the flooring as its not all even and although it probaly wont be very visible i stil like to get it nice and even.

after this i have to veneer the front, back and bottom all in one go with 4 of the very thin 30 mm wide veneering strips. not looking forward to it as they are extremley fragile.

as mewntioned earlier i have now drilled some holes and inserted pegs to keep the wheels together. just need to repaint it all and then i ll see how it goes with putting the spokes in . then i can redo all 3 other wheels
