I would have gone for a 3HP DC with 6" ducting - that drum sander is going to fill your shed with fines and a 2HP simply won't keep up.

    Matter of power supply limits

Yeah that can stymie many a plan but it seems odd that one would spend so much on a new big shed and all that machinery and then not adequately provide enough power to run the necessary machinery? I would have foregone one machine to get a decent DC. I have a 20A line and a 35 A line running to my shed so I can run 3 x 15 A machines at the same time.

One more machine you should consider getting if you do not already have one is a decent compressor.

    Hi Bob
    To answer you:
We do have a compressor, actually 2, in the old shed
We cannot change the power because:
    1) This is insurance replacement after the cyclone
    2) Council Regulations, most we could get was 2 x 20 amp lines.
    3) The land is part of a Corporate Title and as such we cannot change the feeder line without digging up the neighbours' backyards without their permission and, with the Neighbours from Hell, that is not going to happen.
All the meters are in 1 box on the first property, we are the third out of 6.
Very un-traditionally the power lines run at the back of the properties and nobody know where they are, we had enough problems finding the power line to the house
This is Far North Queensland Regional where, about 40 years ago, people did things as they liked.

    Silly me.
I just went and checked the switchboard
We have 4 x 16A and 3 x 10a Circuitbreakers ready to be wired up.
We just aren't allowed any more 20A.
I think we will be fine.
