    Default Side shed ideas

Posted this on the Renovate forum, but would like a wide range of ideas.

What do people do with that 900mm of wasted space beside their sheds? Mine is a garden bed with weeds.

    Anyone got any good ideas?

I have a similar set up. A 16 m long space that ranges from 750mm to 1.5m wide.

    In this space I have
Two racks for timber and metal
A compressor inside a noise suppression chamber (air feeds through the wall and is reticulated around the shed)
My 3HP Dust extractor also inside a noise suppression chamber.
    ASsorted junk.

I've got 800mm between the fence and the 7m long shed. When I got a slab for a carport poured outside the shed, I also had a slab laid along this gap. It used to be full of 4ft high weeds.

I intend to put a roof over the gap and put timber racks under it to free up some room in the shed.

I'll probably slope the roof down to the height of the fence (6 foot) and put a length of gutter along it so the water doesn't just rush off the roof and into the neighbour's yard.

Great idea! I could have my tank pump down there + a rack for timber/metal with a small roof.

I suggested I could put a large amount of black plastic down there and just wrap all my wifes crap up she wants in my new shed. You can imagine the response that got.

Mine's the chook run, but one day I plan to add a wood rack once there's a roof over it.

Mines has also turned into a bit of a doggie run, well that's where a disproportionate amount of doggie doo ends up. Then I end up going around there in the dark and come back with it lining the soles of my boots.

The space along the 5.4m side of my shed is a trapezium, ranging from about 1m at the front to about 3m at the back fence. It contains a 5000l rainwater tank and pump, and a smaller shed (just built) built to fit the space (also a trapezium in shape) that contains the firewood and the garden implements (mower, blower, whipper snipper, rakes, spades, etc). Keeps it all out of the main shed itself.

Access to the tank is now along the gap between the back fence and the main shed, as the firewood/garden shed now blocks access along the side.

    Cheers,
    Chris.
