What's my TAMA 3560/12 guitar worth?
Hi all
I have a TAMA 3560/12 guitar in thoroughly excellent condition, purchased new by me in 1977, and I'm contemplating selling it. Does anyone have an idea of what it might be worth please?
I have read the word "rare" associated with it, but I don't expect that means a great deal. From whay I have read the top is solid Spruce, Indian Rosewood body and Mahogany neck. It is the same as this one.
The Spruce on mine is still quite blond.
Is ebay the best place to sell this?

Tama made guitars? Lol I thought they only made drums. EBay is pretty hit and miss for guitars. Maybe give Jackson rare guitars in Annandale a call. I doubt they would buy it but they could prob give u some info on it

Thanks floody. They made guitars in the 70s but stopped in (I think) 77 or 78. As far as I can tell the same company owned Ibanez and Tama and for acoustic guitars they dropped Tama (named after the company owner's wife). That's the only thing that makes them rare (limited production time). It's a very good guitar, with a great sound. I purchased it to replace my Fender 12 that got nicked from my car. AFAIR it was about a $grand back in the day.

Ok Brett I will go out on a limb here lol
It would be just about impossible to say how much any axe might be worth but speaking very broadly here most Japanese guits that i have seen usually depreciated at a rapid rate, no matter how good their workmanship or tone which is a bit of shame. On the other hand I/We all have seen pretty much absolute unplayable rubbish from some fancied big name companies fetch motzas (go figure)
Its about time to supplement your Tas with a little Gas so my addy would be don't take the hit but keep it and play it yourself.

Cheers Steve (I think!). The one I linked to fetched about USD770, so maybe I'll put it on ebay with a decent reserve and see how it goes. I really need a thicky/jointer and I just don't play anymore (not that I was ever too flash, even though Leo Kottke did his very damn best to inspire me)!
