Mobile-Base Cutting-Bench with Hinged-Extension-Wings
Occupying a relatively small footprint in our space-constrained garage, this Mobile-Base Cutting-Bench will serve to house our Table-Saw, Mitre-Saw, Router, and Shop-Vac. It is the same height as the main work bench, and it can also provide temporary clear flat workspace, particularly with it's wing(s) extended.
Comprised of two sheets of 18mm MDF; some 70x35 and 42x19 pine; and some 18mm plywood for the hinged-pull-out-arms that support the hinged-extension-wings, it has enough heavy inertia to not need lockable castors, but an adult can still easily move it around the shop... or to the naughty corner.

Sadly I will only get back to finishing it next year, and I still have to do things like:
1. Mount Router-Insert and Router on a shelf that is interchangeable with the Outfeed and Mitre-Saw shelf
2. Improve Outfeed capability
3. Adjustable-Stop mechanism for repeat cuts on the Mitre-Saw
4. Do some tweaking to get the top surfaces exactly level (for now the 45degree bevels on the top-surface-edges help reduce minor snagging)
5. Improve initial dust collection particularly for the Mitre-Saw via a shroud/hood (unfortunately we cannot justify a full-blown DC system)
Roll on next year....

WanderinAndy,
the unit looks very good, wish I had thought of it .
By any chance do you have a plan &dimensions for it,
it would be handy under my house,.

Very smart cart.
Three 3x2s under the saw shelf, front, back and middle will soon solve the minor sagging.
I love the toilet roll on the bench in the first pic. Some jobs give me the ####s too.
I am impressed with planning work for next year! I am not sure what I am doing this afternoon.Scally
