There are freeware viewer programs for CAD files around. Google should turn up a few. Usually they let you view the files and print them, but not edit them.
The other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".

Peter's right, I think you can get TurboCad as freeware or trial. Might be worth checking out as you then have a scale 1:1 for making templates, etc.
Anyway, I have dimensioned most (well at least some) of the most important measurements. Bear in mind the bracing scheme on this probably won't be good enough if you use solid timber but seems to work ok for plywood - this one's been sitting in the back of the wardrobe for 20 years and got a real bashing about for 3 years in school till I got him a 'real' one!
I reckon it's worth getting a copy of Campiano if you haven't already as it's definitely the 'bible' (IMHO) when you want to know how to put a real one together.
Check out the attached JPGs and let me know if there's anything else you need.

No worries,
I'll keep an eye on this thread in case you need anything else. Good luck with the build.

I made my daughter a strumstick kinda thing when she turned 3, she loves it.
I wouldnt make a guitar for a five year old either, but lest strings, less frets, something thats easier to play will be much more encouraging for her in my opinion..
this is the one i made mine, she painted it.. (also a great idea imho, really helped get her attached to it..)

Jef,
I was originally looking at a CIGAR BOX Guitar, but the boxes are rare in AUS, and I want some thing that looks like a GUITAR.
I will be building this for a christmas present, when she will be 5 1/2,
PS , Yours looks very good and I bet that your daughter loves it.
