Exclamation Australian Tonewood Guitar Exhibition & Concert

    Hi All,

Wanted to let you all know about this first time Exhibition in Melbourne.

"Beyond The Trees" - Australian Tonewood Acoustic Guitar Exhibition at Montsalvat, Eltham Victoria.

A fine collection of over 60 Acoustic Guitars dating back from the 17th Century to present day. Students of Thomas Lloyd Guitars have built these wonderful guitars exactly as the original maker would have just build with 100% Australian Tonewoods instead of European wood.

It is free entry Sat 18-Sun 19 August, 2012.

We will have a baroque guitar, Ukuleles, Classical Guitars, Acoustic Guitars plus the famous Gibson L5, Martin D28'S and many more all built solely from Aussie Tonewood.

Then on the Sunday night we will be hosting a Concert showcasing over 12 of the guitars and their tonal qualities.

Concert is $35 and Conc $20. Limited 200 seats!

Love to catch up with you all and the wood show locals!

    Thanks,

Fiona Mitchell for Chris Wynne- Thomas Lloyd Guitars.

Great exhibition, congrats to all involved. Spent a very enjoyable couple of hours out there and saw some lovely work. Would have loved to have gotten back for the concert but wasn't to be. Attached a few photos for those that couldn't make it.

Spent some enjoyable time there this afternoon and was blown away by the craftmanship on display.

As we had a birthday party to attend we were unfortunately not able to attend the concert.

    Default Beyond The Trees Exhibition.

    Hi Everyone,

The Exhibition was amazing. Once we had set up I just stood back in disbelief of just how amazing the show and work looked. All the students who displayed their work we so proud and excited about the positive feedback.

The Concert too was excellent. The first half was Classical headed by Antoni Field and Dan McKay along with Daniel Nistico and Peter Boyd. They played Australian Composed classical music as well as icon historical classical music.
The second set was fun with a range of acoustics being played from the double neck to the Orville gibson and Macafferri.

Pictures that were attached by OSBOJO are great here is a bit more info about them:
Very first one is a Kasha Guitar
6062 is Gidgee and a Gidgee fret board (supplied by loggerheads)
Selmer Macaferri is Mastergrade Fiddleback Blackwood
Gibson L5 (last picture) is Queensland Walnut with Figured Gidgee scratch plate

I will post a short video for you later on today.

Glad you enjoyed the show. Sorry you missed the concert but it was professionally filmed.
