Default Neck Through Body - Neck angle.

    Hi guys,
I'm looking into doing a neck through body build with a tuneOmatic bridge. I am aware I need to either recess the TOM or create a neck angle or 1-3 degrees..
How do you create this angle with a neck through?

    Thanks,

    Josh.

I asked the same question here ---> MIMF • View topic - Neck-through / tilt question

I've got two waiting on bridges (which seem to be stuck in the mail) so I can determine the required neck angle. Once I determine the neck angle the I can glue the wings on and get going on the them again

I glued up the laminaes for the neack, and then used a jointer to make sure the entire thing was straight and square. Once that is done, you use the true surface as the surface that the fingerboard glues to. I used a bandsaw to then cut out the correct angle for the body and the headstock.
The other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".

    These look great!

i have a way of creating neck angle for thru necks in cigar boxes and cookie tins that I call a 'body end scarf join' which pretty much says it all.. Anyway I've used that quite a few neck thru solids now, making some pretty big neck angles from thinner neck planks. Great stuff

Once you know the neck angle, then plane it to suit. Here is a jointer method, otherwise draw the lines on and plan it by hand.
