No shed
As some may realise, I've had to do a lot of downsizing recently as SWMBO and I have moved to an "over 55s community". But our new villa is yet to be built and we find ourselves in an apartment with not even a garage or storeroom to play in while what's left of my workshop is in storage. I never thought that the withdrawal symptoms would be so severe. There's a minute village mens shed with a Triton sawtable and a 6" bandsaw and a tiny drill press. Any more than 3 blokes and you have to take turns to breath. AAAAAGGGHH!
(that's a bit better)

Graeme thats rotten luck but I am sure in close proximity to your place is Hornsby woodies and men shed.
I know its a long way but your welcome over to smell the wood and even play if you wish. Can't have you going into deep with drawl's an we.
Sorry no Metal Lathe Mill but H&F is down the road and they often have old blokes drooling all over the machines

I'm currently under a similar constraint and can really sympathise ...
BUT what REALLY HURTS is the cost of storage is rapidly overtaking the value of what I have in storage -- If I'm not out of storage by about this time next year, I would have been better off giving away almost everything I have in storage.regards from Alberta, Canada

I can imagine the frustration!
Although I have a good shed and plenty of storage room under the house I have not been able to get to do anything.
We have been modifying the hose and building a deck so the shed has taken a back seat. I am not happy.

Ah yes modifying a hose can be time consumingno tools involved thereis their artme just cut it splice it bend it mend it.
How do you build a deck without tools without at east walking into the shed to get said tools..............or are you sitting back stupervising some young bloke while sipping drinks and splashing about in the pool.

I can certainly sympathies. I have just moved into smaller accomodation while we build a new house and everything has gone in storage. I hope to be able to re-arrang enough to get the lathe going again, eventually.

After 7 years of no shed today I have had enough and went to the local council with the application to build my new shed. 10000 x 9500 x 3600 walls..... the beauty of this beauty is that when it's up I can drag all of the carp and the tool trailer out of the existing "shed" which will become my woodturning play room. I will be able to reintroduce my self to my lathes, bandsaw etc etc etc....
Hopefully be in for christmas!

I hope the carp appreciate the effort you are going to.
Seriously, I thought mine was never going to happen - it's taken 18 months but it has happened.
You won't know what to do with all that room.
You also may want to think carefully about dust extraction and other services before you get too far along the track.

Deep enough to back the ute in with the tool trailer on and close the door. Room to run the boat in. Room for the work benches. Room for the drop saw bench. Room for the table saw, buzzer and little thicknesser. Room for timber racks. Room for the shelves etc.
The machines are stored in a mates ENORMOUS shed ( he fits 60' fishing boats inside it with lots of room to spare) the shelves racks and lathes are in my ex shed at my ex's place and will move right in.
Just having a level concrete floor to work and walk on will be fantastic!
Oh, and there will be room for a nice big carport right across the front.
