This low angle bullnose plane is an attractive, very affordable and comfortable plane to hold while in use. I paid an impressive $38.00 total for this new bullnose plane.
Next....I applied black satin water based enamel metal paint carefully with artist brush taking care to avoid the tapped holes.
The lever cap secures the plane iron after adjustments are made using the small 5mm recessed screw.
When the plane is properly set up the toe larger locking screw can be used to adjust the mouth without damage to the plane iron.
Note the small 4mm toe depth / mouth limiting screw on the inside under the number on toe.
This plane weighs 1 lb 1 oz... This plane's iron arrived sharp enough to use and measures 1" wide. A light 30 second honing to perfection for performance was optional. This plane's sole was machined very smooth & flat to 31/32" finished width. No sanding or lapping was needed out of the box.
The non adjustable fixed plane sole surface measures 3 5/8" long. The adjustable toe thickness is approx 1/4" thick. Total length is approx 4" long with a 1/8" mouth gap.
Honing a mere 1/64" from each side of the plane iron totalling 1/32" is easy if needed or desired.
The plane's cheeks were machined smooth & square to the smooth sole and the plane sole is flat lengthwise. Ready to use out of the box.
