    Default My 2 cents

    Hi guys,

When this started out I had access to money and I was keen to start some woodworking projects (I'm still a complete novice). It seemed like a great opportunity to gets some good gear and so I went for it. It's been a long wait, but I haven't stressed about it because I've been distracted by a bunch of other projects. Every now and then I check in to see the progress and have been happy to know that the whole project hasn't just disappeared. Now that I have no available money (due to aforementioned other projects) it will be a happy surprise when they finally do arrive. In terms of sizes, I doubt it will make too much difference to me as it will all be new to me anyway.

So in the spirit of Option 3. Keep up the good work, I still appreciate the opportunity and I look forward to getting them when they arrive...

P.S. If someone felt like going that extra mile for me and put them together I'd feel pretty OK about that too! Otherwise, when they do arrive I will be annoying people here with a million question.

Seeing as you are in Katamatite, we can arrange for a pickup, ( I'm in Shepparton ) and I'm sure we can do something about the assembly.

Can I just give a "plug" to Ray and Josh for the now Mammoth finishing job they are doing on these chisels. I received my half set of Firmer chisels earlier this year. And yes, I did think it was a long time from ordering and paying and then having a long wait. The finish on the chisels I received is nothing less than magnificent!!! They have a mirror finish on all surfaces and are sharp and ready to work without having to sharpen on a stone!! I think they are great and well worth the wait.

Ray and Josh have had a huge amount of grinding to do with the whole order (plane blades, turning chisels, Firmer chisels and now the bevel chisels. The grinding process, I believe, is a job that "takes as long as it takes" and can't be hurried.

I, for one, am very grateful for the effort that has gone into this Group Buy. The resulting tools produced are of a very high quality and will give great service for their owners.

And no, I'm not a relative just a happy participant in this Group Buy who is very grateful for the hours Ray and Josh have put in to give us these tools
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

    Apologies Ray
The missing word is 'mind'. Feel free to include one of the undersized chisels in my set. My woodworking's not accurate enough for 0.5mm to make a difference!

I'm with you there. From the way my firmers turned out, I think none of you will be disappointed with the paring chisels even if the wait has been more than you hoped. I'm pretty certain Ray and Josh are just as anxious to tidy this one up.

All of which reminds me I have a little job coming up that the firmer chisels were just made for .

    Just a quick update

9mm side bevels are finished and length taper grinding finished. While we have the 9mm set up, we are grinding the side bevels on the skews.

You can see some skews in the top of the picture.
