    Default shed flooring

    Hi there

My new shed will be built on a concrete slab. I'd appreciate suggestions about coverings for the concrete.

    I'm looking for something that:
    • will reduce fatigue on legs and back
    • doesn't retain sawdust
    • preferably makes it easier to see dropped screws, etc
    • Can withstand moving Triton workcentre and router table around. Nothing heavier than that.

I've been thinking of vinyl planks. Bits can be replaced if they get damaged.

    Thanks

    Stewart

I can't see vinyl planks doing much for your legs and back.
I reckon you are better off painting the floor and using mats that can be moved around and picked up when you want to really clean up.

Not long finished my floor. I used a couple of layers of thick plastic and then 12mm exterior grade ply (varnished both sides). I did not glue it down just used biscuits to join the ply together. Easy to clean easy on the feet because it is floating. I also looked at vinyl planks but it worked out very expensive compared to the ply. Very pleased so far.

Thanks for your input. Mike, I'm surprised that a couple of layers of plastic sheet provides cushioning. Also, when you say "varnish", what sort of varnish was it?
