timber bindings question
currently having a few issues bending jarrah bindings around the tight [ish] radii on a solid body guitar
i am using a bending iron - i have used maple which bends easily enough also walnut but this jarrah is just unyielding
anyone one got a suggestion as to a substitute material?
i see gilet and ALS are selling indian rosewood is that a recomendation of sorts?
doesn't have to be strictly an aussie but that would be nice
thanks in advanceray c
dunno what's more fun, buyin' the tools or usin' em'

Jarrah is not an easy timber to bend, although it can be done with a bit of patience, care, and persistance. Indian Rosewood on the other hand is easy to bend, so I would use the Rosewood. I use a lot of Indian Rosewood for bindings. It is hard and easy to bend so is just about ideal.

Timber Binding question
G'Day Ray,
Another species that might be of interest that will look very smart is Tasmanian myrtle looks good bends well nice colour.
Not that I am trying to sell as this will not make me rich but let me know if it is of interest and what you are willing to pay including shipping costs.
And I will let you know if it can be done. regards Bob.
