    Default Fret Beveling Tool

Saw a similar tool at StewMac's. Added a second slot and file. UHMWPE block. 7 x 2 x 1". Slots cut on the table saw. P1020654.jpgP1020652.jpg

    Nice.

The stewmac tool is way over priced for what it does. I've done 2 fret bevels just by angling my single cut file.

Yes. If you have a saw that can cut the slot they take about 5min to make and cost almost nothing. I made one with 2 slots at slightly different angles and I just put the file in the angle that I want for the particular job.

Here is one that I made with some scrap hardwood and leather from a garage sale bag (file from Bunnings). Different angles of the block relative to the file give the two angles needed (flush file the frets, then bevel them). Only one tool, no moving the file from one slot to the other.

    Great solution.

IMHO it is generally better to solve a problem than to buy a solution.
