The Berimbau
A Brazilian/african instrument used for Capoeira... usually just a bow from a beriba tree but more recently people have been making them from sandwitched wood... Can someone in the know take a look and guestimate how hard something like this would be to make?

Depends on how much elaboration you want. A basic instrument in a few hours I reckon. Go for lots of decoration, laminated timbers and the like and you will be at it for a few weeks.
You could prototype one with a beetroot tin, some crapiata and some string. That would you give you an idea of what is really involved."We must never become callous. When we experience the conflicts ever more deeply we are living in truth. The quiet conscience is an invention of the devil." - Albert Schweizer
