    Default LP 59 Nearing Completion

Thanks to this Forum and peoples input, plus some videos I managed to build a LP 59 for my Niece now I'm 95 percent finished number two which is for my son. A friend has asked to see some photos so here goes.
The top is American Maple and the bottom layer is Mahogany. It is finished in three coats of two pack. 2000 grit wet and dry between coats and a final finish with steel wool and then polished up by hand.
It's taken 9 months what with travel and a house move etc but it's looking good.

    Cheers, Kerry

Very nice Kerry! Even though the maple isn't flame, it looks fantastic.

I have a question. I looks like you're routing the angled neck pocket in picture #3. How exactly did you do it? I'm nearing that stage on my SG build and I'm not sure if it's just a case of some some wood at the correct angle for the router bit bearing to ride against. It looks like that's what you did.

    Thanks for that.
The new photo gives a better perspective of the template and the angle of it. 4.5 from memory but please check. The guitar is anchored with double sided tape which is much stronger than you realise. I used callipers to keep checking the depth so I never went too deep. You need a big mother of a router bit.
    Good luck Kerry
