Default Shed Cabinets, bench and drawers

    Hiya,

just wanted to share my latest addition to the shed. I've had this bench and storage cabinets in my head for a long time and only recently had the time to build them. The basic design comes from a similar design to Norm Abrams workshop cabinets although slightly Colified. I finally got to christen the Gifkins dovetail jig (which i bought about 2 years ago), for all the drawers. Although the mdf didnt give an ideal result for the dovetails using the jig i am still happy with the result. All the drawers are on full extension drawer slides and they work seamlessly. I still get a kick when the drawer soft closes all by themselves for the last little bit.

I can't tell you how much more organized this has already made the shed. The remaining cabinets will have shelves and cupboard doors to suit as i find more things to fill them with. I plan on making a clamp holder on the right side wall, cabinets above the benches and storage up the wall.

    Thanks for looking

    Cheers

    Hi,
    Looking good.
Unfortunately I have found the clutter catches up and over takes all my attempts.

It only took me 4 years of shifting around the clutter to finally build a bench

That's VERY sweet, I've been thinking of the same for a while myself. Think you've given me some ideas to work on here, thanks for sharing

Great work and for the draws better to have a lot of shallower ones then deeper one.

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated!! My idea for the shallow drawers was definately along the lines of the metal tool boxes, for handtools etc. The bigger drawers are for my hand powertools. All in all Ive built all the cabinets with drawer slides and lined the walls of my shed for just under a $1000, so considering a half decent tool box is anywhere from from $500 - $1000 i'm pretty wrapt with the results.

    Cheers
