Nice work, I really like the elevated storage trays/shelves - very practical design. What do you reckon your total aluminium cost was?

Thanks Mick. About $220 in material all up, most of its from left overs from other jobs. Plus $10 per caster wheel.
Size of trolley- 1000mm L X 720mm W X 1600mm H.

Break down is-

2 lengths 40x40x3mm angle $74.00
security mesh $35.00
4 meters 32 box $33.00
2 meters 20mm box $9.00
3mm sheet $70.00

Well I said I was going to wait a year but I ended my trolley making days a week or so ago and handed over the cash for a plate boat kit.
Was a bit hesitant at first but I'm sure it'll be ok. I hope.

Will be building it in your typical 6mx6m attached garage. Just enough room for me the boat and 3 trolley's and maybe the better half's washing machine.
Kit is a few weeks away yet... giant jigsaw puzzle for Christmas, so in the meantime I will post up some general plans and costing if interested.

Mmmmm... problem with the tig tonight.

Was welding great just about had the 2 sides joined together then just out of the blue it started to weld like crap. Black soot, barely any cleaning action, couldn't get the filler rod any where near it without balling up and making a mess.

I suspect shielding gas problem.

I have checked for leaks,no burn holes, soapy water on all fittings and changed all consumables in torch head.
Now could there be a problem with the argon? I am down to the last quarter, one would think if it was contaminated you would know by now. I am open to suggestions.

I've got a question cw. I just bought a 1 year old Dynasty myself and I'm interested in a CK Flex-loc torch. Going way back to page 3 of this thread, I noticed you ordered one and it's the one-piece superflex cable one just like I want. Do you remember the connector # you had to buy to hook up that cable to your Dynasty? The reason I ask is Miller says that it has DINSE 50 connectors (I should take a closer look and confirm myself) whereas in the CK catalog it says that the Dynasty requires a DINSE 35 connector, part # SL2-35 for the FL150 torch. I guess you also need a short line from the gas outlet of the Dynasty into the CK connector.

Hi Legion, fitting details are-

Torch - CK FL1512SF FlexLoc Pkg 150A with 12.5' superflex cable.
Dinse - CK SL2-35 safeLoc Male Dinse.

The dinse connector comes with gas in hose and fitting but you will have to change the fitting to a 1/4x3/8 nut & tail ass. as the American dynasty uses a male fitting.
I would also recommend in getting a 200amp trim line torch as well (different dinse connector). The 150 flexLoc gets very hot around the 120 amp mark.
Consumables can be purchased from BOC.

Well the kit turned up on the Friday afternoon after all the confusion of who will deliver it.
Was a little bit scary with the unloading with all the noises of cracking pallets. Thought it was gone for sure, but was placed gently were I wanted with no damage to the plates.

Only had half day Saturday of unpacking and cutting out plates due to storms rolling in. Sunday was a big day with all the plates cut out and stored inside, all the mess cleaned up and the left over cuttings put away....thought it would never end.
Side sheets are ginormous and I head to scratch my head at how to get them in but ended up having no problems with sliding them along a piece of timber the short distance into the garage.

Bit of sorting and cleaning to do next, then seeing how the silly season goes (meaning Christmas) hopefully I'll get a start at putting this thing together.
