    Default Bouzouki style

When deciding about the future of the stash I thought " oh well I really should finish what I have started" bad move I have the bug again and a whole lot of new ideas.

My current project. 565mm string length, bent top. Tasmanian myrtle back and sides, bear claw spruce top, ebony fingerboard, nut and bridge. Tru Oil finish. Needs rubbing out, cleaning up and set up.

    Very nice work Sebastiaan.

I like the sound hole. Looks different.
The rounded fingerboard edges are interesting, too. Do the fret ends get in the way at all when moving up and down the neck?

Thx guys, the fretboard works Steve but I had to do a bit of filing.... I made a nut out of Ebony for set up but it didnt really work so I'll post when I make a new one. Im trying an open tuning, interesting. There is a bit to get used to.

Hurly burly. I would have said good move. I finally used some of the Ebony you sent me on the weekend, it doesn't have a guitar to go one yet but when I was making a Blackwood/CF bridge I knocked up 4 extras while I was set up, one being the Ebony. The Ebony may be heavy but your can't see the CF stripe in it.

Looking good Jim, Are you hollowing the backs?

I have a love/hate relationship with Ebony. There are times when a scraper just wont do and I seem to get the dust everywhere, literally. But a bit of carbon black in epoxy covers a multitude of learning experiences so I persevere. Tow what tow, I can see any tow.

By Hollowing the back I assume you mean the cove rout on the rear of the finished blackwood one, yep just to remove a bit of weight and maintain the footprint. You can't see it in the pic but they all have a layer of CF mat in them A la Gore/Gilet.
