Need to make 50mm beech cubes
I have some Cuboro and Cugolino sets (see here cuboro | cuboro Australia) which are basically sets of precisely made 50mm European beechwood cubes which can be combined together to make some great marble runs. Great for kids and adults alike
In addition to the cubes drilled with tracks and tunnels there are so called base cubes which are no more than precisely cut and finished cubes which form the support for the marble run. Given the Swiss made Cuboro sets are very expensive, I was hoping that I could buy (or have made) some base cubes of my own to supplement the sets that I have.
Here are some examples I have found from international suppliers:
5X Wood Cubes Wooden Cubes Blocks 50mm 2" Beech NOT Birch | eBay
or better Holzwürfel 25 - 200mm: Holzwürfel 2
These are ok but the shipping costs make them still quite expensive and there may be customs issues getting them imported.
Can anyone recommend a local (Sydney) supplier where I could get these. The key is that they need to be precisely cut and the, because its a kids toy, the finish need to be smooth and free of splinters.
Any ideas greatly appreciated. I am thinking the local Bunnings does not cut it.
Cheers
Richard
