1931 A Model Ford Fire Engine No 2 - WIP
WIP 1.jpg
Hi All.
I have started another 1931 A Model Ford Fire Engine which I donating to the Anglesea CFA. I will post some Work In Progress photos for those interested.
All metal pieces I turn out of aluminium as I have found it easier to work with. The aluminium parts in the attached photo are the axles and the camlock fittings I am making for the hydrant fire hoses. For those who also use a metal turning lathe I can recommend "Kool Kut 1" machine cutting oil. It's code is KK1-1. It is made by "Quick Smart Products". It is a soluble cutting oil and you use it at 20:1 water to oil ratio.
The photo shows the front and rear mudguards, spotlight casings, fire reel spokes and hydrant connection hoses.
I have done basic cutouts using my bandsaw. Rough sanding using face and spindle sanders and then a lot of fine hand sanding. Will continue with WIP photos as I progress.
