    Default F1 Cars

Drawing on some inspiration from another poster on this forum, I made some F1 race cars of own for my son.

Good fun racing these around the living room!

Thesmo, great work. They look very sturdy ready for a toddler to get a grip of how olds your son? What did you use for the axel? Did you turn the wheels or use 2 holesawed bits glued and sanded?

That's a great looking set of racing cars you've built Thesmo,
Look simple and strong ready for a heap of fun and play, well done.

Thanks guys - I am really enjoying this toy making stuff, only wish I had more time for it!

Delbs - my son recently turned 2.
The axles are 6mm Tas Oak Dowel.
The wheels are made from some 42x42 pine, trimmed to 25mm depth on table saw, then cut to size with hole-saw and sanded.
The offcuts from the wheels were used for the front/back wings after some trimming on the scroll saw.

Oneye - no plans as such, just an idea from a fellow toy makers post from a couple of months back.
Did some rough sketches, then had a crack at it. Made some modifications along the way after seeing if dry fitted together - like the idea of adding the head/helmet.
