    Default cheap carbon fibre neck reinforcing spars

    a cheap supply of 1m spars in a couple of usefull sizes can be had from here:
    Carbon fiber Australia
    came across them while hunting for bits for a bass i am building
    look for the strip and bar link on the LHS
    very fast shipping
    ray c
    dunno what's more fun, buyin' the tools or usin' em'

    Hi Ray, I missed you at the amp fest Saturday. Question, What size would you use on standard electric neck?

    I'm planing a couple of builds and am considering using carbon fibre to stiffen the neck and strengthen the headstock.

    i reckon 2 of 1mm x 6mm would likely be sufficient to add enough stiffness but cutting a 1mm trench would be problematic
    probably would use 2 of the 1x6mm each side of the truss rod channell - 3x6mm seems pretty big for a guitar - i will use 2 of the 6x3mm in the bass i have just begun

    didn't get to ampfest this year - just too much going on here and it completely passed me by
