Temagori Nokogiri saw for ripping boards?
I'm thinking of buying Temagori Nokogiri ripcut saw Kobiki Nokogiri - Japanese Timber Saws for ripping boards that are two to three inhes thick.
Would this be the right tool for the job? I know ripping will anyway be a slow process, but this looks quite a big saw. Anyone tried it?

I'd say yes. I've got and have used a huge maebiki (not day in and out, don't have enough huge timbers for a lot of that activity, but we did take down a sycamore), and it works its own way through wood, even cross cut amazingly enough. I think they're supposed to be used horizontally, so gather a lot of wedges if you try that (I haven't).
