    Default A Wee garage

Here are a few pics of a little bush garage I made for my daughter-in-law. I made it to go with a farm house I'd already built in the same scale, but this time because it had to be seen from the inside, I had to detail the heck out of it for her. She has a 1/24 scale model of her first car that I said I'd make a nice place for it.
As you can see, I had to make half of the roof detachable so she could see the details I made for it. All the little tools are hand made from anything I could make that would look the part.
In the shot of the open roof pic, you will see a screw to the front right that looks like it's just stuck into the wall, but pushing it actually lights up an overhead LED light so it looks better in the dark.
Oh yeah...the cow's skull over the front double doors was made from pieces of re4al cow bones, but were shaped by hand with a Dremel tool and itty bitty files.
I based the whole thing on one of the shipping containers I have here where I keep my valuables. I did actually put a similar roof (of tin) and 'corral' with its own fireplace just like the model.
The wagon wheel was a bit of a chore because after I turned up the basic shape on the4 lathe, I had to shape every spoke by hand with the help of a scroll saw first to rough it out a bit.
Even the table and chairs had to be 'cut and shut' back together to get just the right look.
I stil have a long way to go yet as I have the rest of the barnyard to build.

Very nice, Bob, I love it. I'll bet that skull took a while. Great work.
The cobwebs are a nice touch, too.
Can't wait to see the rest of the barnyard.

...onya Rob... you definitely have an eye for detail as well as the patience to translate that to your fingers.

I'd love to be able to give you some measurements Crowie, but the lil shed is at its new home now and I only get to see it now and then. If I had some plans for it that might help, but I did it all out of my empty head and didn't put pen to paper at any time during the build.
I'll see if I can remember to take some measurements next time I see it plus I'll get some pics of the log cabin I built first that sort of spawned the idea for the garage.
I still have the rest of the farm to finish building yet, That will include stables, chook shed and of course the dog kennel. Then I have to somehow put them all together on a big coffee table slab so it looks like a proper farm.
    Queue the Walton's music please.
