Thanks crowie, just moving on. I have a lot to do on this house. Probably be working on it another month. Do you have a Facebook account? We can keep tabs on each other there.

The house is looking absolutely great and the shutters look just fine to me.

it is sad that you are thinking of not posting any more of your builds especially after such a great build on this house.

Hello Fozzy, I'm a bit surprised anyone would quit posting here. I'm not a member as long as you, but I'm wondering if there's a particular reason for stopping (if you'd want to share)?
If enlightment is not where you are standing, where will you look?

Still no sign of Ken, and now blood...the plot thickens.

How many other furniture items are you planning to make?

I'm trying to decide whether I should make the furniture fully operational. Opening drawers and such. I plan on this being in the family for a long time. It seems to me that having drawers that could get lost seems a little silly to me. While that adds to the realism, it also adds to lost and broken parts. Opinions? I'm also trying to decide on whether to use oak, cherry, walnut or pine for furniture and trim. I want the trim and furniture to flow as one

I made this cherry bedroom furniture before I started the house. My daughter was like, the drawers don't open. That's what got me thinking about all of this

She would have great fun if the draws opened. If you are concerned about losing them at least go with the cupboard doors opening. You could always make the backs of the draws slightly larger and insert them from the back before fixing the back on so the pull out without coming out completely. Hope that you understand that description.
