    G'Day "Wasi",
IMHO from what I've seen in markets your ute will sell somewhere between $25 & $35....
I prefer the natural timber look showing off the grain & colour of the timber; I only use pressure pack polyurethane.
I mix and match various timbers to highlight the toy using older secondhand recycled timbers as they are heaps better & mostly cheaper.
I'd encourage you to add some details to the finish off the toy.
Some dowel headlights & tail-lights plus a small grill over that of drawn or pyro parts; could even add a steering wheel.
The doors could be detailed by carving the outline int the timber.
On the selling side of the matter I have heard that some blokes do get there own public liability insurance through, I think the Victorian Woodworkers Guild, as a way to safe guard themselves against mishaps.
I hope that's of some help, but pricing isn't my strong point as I give away most of what I do.
    Cheers, crowie....

PS - have a look back through some of the toymakers threads for other thoughts; Cooroy Toymaker did something on this from memory a while back.....

    Default Kerfing

    Hi,

I've been making toys for 20 odd years, so if I may, I'd like to offer a couple of suggestions that might work for you.
Kerfing. The grill on your truck could be cut by cutting a piece of wood the size of the grill and pushing it lightly ( but not all the way through ) into a band saw blade to make the grill effect.
trucks 1990's.jpgIt's can be seen on the grills of the these trucks I used to make in the 90's.

As for the door effect, I use a small circular saw blade on my dremel tool.

I can highly recommend the Dremel as a must have if your making toys. You can get one in Bunnings for just over $100

    Hope this has been helpful

Cooroy Toymaker, are there particular bits/attachments you recommend for the Dremel as must haves?

    Default Hi

Thx for advice I got a triton rotary tool but still struggling with door details, I am thinking to buy a little cnc engraver or making a jig with router inlay attachment. never get clean cut as I expected.

    Hi,

any of the tools above will be ok especially no 199 the cutter.
Also the sanding disks are very important for sanding in difficult places.
On my wish list is one of these
    linisher.JPG
    I'll get one one day

Have a look at Proxxon tools too , they have some nice stuff.
I have two of them, and use them quite a bit.
