    Thumbs up doors

    preparing door upper surface to apply extra wood for extra strength

    wood sliced/cut in pieces ready to be glued on to door

    all pressed together with clamps for strength

    glued now, ready for sanding


    done and dusted

    my first love waiting to be started
    seats from DMC fits OK

    Thumbs up rear end chopped off

    decided to chop off upper part of rear to rebuild it with straight parts

    could be pick up truck DMC

    after some sanding new panels glued on

    and after sanding looks better

    more panels added

    and more


    both sides complete, looking good

    time to straighten the roof

    middle and front panel added on top of existing frame for extra strength and sanding

    roof top sanded down in one level

    doors open and close perfect

    Thumbs up rear fascia

    Indian mahogany block getting ready to become rear fascia on my DMC

    temp glued on for part picture visualization

    drawing up some guidelines

    top and sides cut off

    starting to sand, cut and carve out space for lights

    after a while getting there

    and after another while, test fitted to see if lines match etc

    temp engine bay cover cut out to see if everything matches

    lights cut out, more room made for them

    test fitted

    preparing space on bumper to carve DeLorean letters

    first letter done

    all letters carved with paper knife

    filled with white paint

    turned out well for a first try

    decided to redo rear lights so starting to work with few tiny wood pieces

    pine wood for rear lights and red mahogany for the rest

    all pieces in place, quality of image is not great as I'm shooting with my phone, my other camera broke down
    there is 3 different wood colors to imitate lights

    wood splitters glued individually between wood pieces(lights)

    one side sanded down and done, other to go

    job done on lights and surrounding area



    got the chance to be with BTTF car few days ago

    Thumbs up rear louvre and engine cover

    time to put together rear pure wooden Louvre

    putting in place parts for frame

    sides for frame in place, all other parts can go in

    all in and sanded, time to cut some holes

    holes cut and sanded, time to put in some detail

    all in place and sanded down

    now starting with engine cover, first pieces glued together


    sanded down and test fitted

    sides added


    looking good altogether, need to add few more bits on that engine cover next time
