Default Heard this is the place to be

Hi guys, met a couple of you in person on the weekend and so here I am.

I like to think of myself as a turner but who knows. I've seen some awesome work so I may get bitten by the bug.

Default The toymakers on this forum are a TOP MOB OF BLOKES from across the country&the world

    G'day Dave,
Children love toys and a handmade toy by dad, poppy an uncle or even a friend of the family is a treasured item.
Wooden toys can last for generations and even if they are damaged, mostly they can be repaired without too much fuss.
The toy makers on this forum are a TOP MOB OF BLOKES from across the country and the world.
As a turner you have a head start on making the wheels & cylindrical parts.
And if toymaking becomes a little less challenging just have a look at some of the MAGNIFICENT WORKS OF ART the craftsmen do in the Scale Model section; some who scratch build beautiful examples of the real deal.
For me it's just toys, no not JUST TOYS for toymaking is a joy especially when the children who receive the toy get so much enjoyment.
SO YES DAVE, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE......ENJOY!!!!
    Cheers, crowie

Hi Dave and welcome to the fun side of woodworking at least you can play with they once made. Saying that as far as I am concerned all woodworking is fun, I also dabble at woodturning and woodcarving occasionally.
I even have a plan for a woodturned tractor from one of the turning suppliers.

That sounds like a good place to start. I got 3 young kids, youngest will be 2 on Thursday. Oldest just turned 5 and the girl is almost 4.

Have some step kids as well. They start at 9

    Thank you.

Looks like more than an hours work . If it were a real simple one I might have had a go today.

Got my 2 youngest and a 1 yr old granddaughter today. As it is it has taken me 15 minutes back and forth just to reply lol

It is on the 'will do!!!' pile and a pic will follow
