Too late - I want one!

They look fantastic Derek. A great range of cutters, and that articulated tip is just what the doctor ordered. Comes in a mini version, too, I notice.

They mention that the cutters are cryogenically treated, and that they can be sharpened with a diamond hone, but fail to mention the material. I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere. Is it HSS or tungsten carbide, do you know? I assume they're sharpened by honing the flat top surface, like a bead tool?

I think I might possibly be putting one of these on my shopping list, after I get a couple more of the necessities. Thanks for the heads-up.

Edit: You'll have to let me know what you think once you get the feel of it.

Default Four coats of clear gloss polyurethane

Four coats of clear gloss polyurethane.... ALMOST FINISHED ..... Just awaiting the postie with from Peterbilt.....

The timber colours and grain have come up a treat.....

I love the camphor laurel bonnet.....

The mix of timbers seems to worked out okay too.....

    You'll find huon pine, cyprus pine, merbau, radiata pine, tassie oak, red cedar, some old el-cheapo pallet hardwood;
but I'm unsure of the timber in the front mudguards or the tipper tray chassis....

The wheels are shop bought, as are the various sizes of axle pegs....

Once again THANK YOU to one and all for te encouragement with this project, I appreciate the support and enjoyed the build...
    Cheers, Peter

Well the look turned into PLEASE PA, can we ave a play with the new truck.

Of course, Pa relented; the boys did enjoy the play but the truck did suffer a little minor damage....it got sorted before the clear polyurethane went on.

I'm sure it'll have a heap more bumps and bruises soon enough, but the joy is seeing the play....life is surely good!!!

Glad to see it all coming together Crowie. The colours are really standing out now.
Funny how kids really like a new wooden toy. I hope you all had fun.
Waiting for the next one to start to keep us entertained for a few months.
Keep up the good work, and the top attitude to life.

    That's looking really hot, Peter.

Love the figure in the Camphor Laurel bonnet. The finish really brought it out.
You did a top job on this. Well done.

The first of my yo-yos suffered some minor damage before the finish had hardened too - just couldn't help myself.
    (It touched up fine afterwards.)

Looks complete now. Glad the pins came though without a drama. Obviously with the slowdown in production, Handy has been laid off.

    Thank you ''Treecycle''.
I had to give ''Handy'' a weeks holiday after all of his efforts of the past 3 months.
I expect him to be around to help with the next project.
