I have contacted MapleMan to let him know that I will be travelling down to the Hunter Valley and then onto Katoomba on the weekend of the 17/18 May. I will also be going via Brisbane as it is my intention to go to the Brisbane WWW show on the preceeding Friday.
I have suggested to Chris that I could detour to him and pick up orders to transport South if anybody was interested. I will have my trayback ute and also my large trailer, which has a carrying capacity of 1.5T and can accomodate lengths up to around 4.2m. If any of you were thinking about some of Chris' spectacular timbers, but were daunted by freight costs you might like to consider this offer.
To give some idea, and assuming it was reasonably subscribed, I would anticipate freight would be around $75 which would be divided up amongst the purchasers according to weight (as opposed to value). If I needed to tow the trailer all the way to Katoomba instead of just to the Hunter Valley, I would have to look at an additional cost. It might cost $100 all up. However I am just giving these figures to enable you to guage the expense. I am not looking to profit from the exercise: I just don't want to be out of pocket for additional fuel used by virtue of extra weight and the small detour to Cedarton.
Chris tells me there is a good supply of mango, but I don't know what else. So if interested you should post here or at least PM him for details.
