Compound Mitre Saw
Can anyone suggest where in Melbourne i can get my compound mitre saw repaired ? I had a small problem cutting a piece of F5 pine when it jumped and bent the blade which has thrown the arm out of whack. Its great if you want to cut on an angle all the time ! but no good for straight cuts.
Its a Ryobi saw that cost about $400 at the time i bought it, is it worth repairing or would the cost of repair justify getting another ?

These days, the cost of getting somebody to look at it and repair it wouldn't make it worthwhile IMHO. If you can find the bent section, you may be able to take it to Ryobi and get a quote on buying that part only and fix it yourself.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

I spoke to Ryobi but they don't make parts for that model anymore. Looks to me like i have to get another one.
It just seems a waste of money... but what can you do
