END of an ERA. GIS fer sailz
I would have posted this on my GIS thread, but apparently we can't bump threads older than 365 days, so I can't close the cosmic cycle. A new post then.
It is with some small sadness, but mostly with good Goaty vibes, that I announce the sale of WORLD FAMOUS IAZ,P
IAZ,P has travelled far and wide up and down the New England Coast on day trips and multiday expedition cruising. With a competent, confident skipper she can take you along the Maine Island Trail. For the less experienced, she is a superb protected water vessel to hone your skills. Complete with lugsail, oars, centerboard, rudder, and all rigging. New England Ropes. Rigging tutoring by ME included. Slightly rough around the edges (first build, much used) but very loved and still SOLID and TIGHT.
Please see www.gisamateur.blogspot.com for her blog that details construction and all her adventures.
$1500 USD
Trailer also maybe for sale too, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

It is time.
Too many boats and she's not getting the use she used to, since Scout has entered the picture. I'm moving, etc. Someone else's turn to beat around in her with.

Wow. This is a blow. I was hoping to match Kathleen Marie against IAZ,P again at this summers SRR. Oh well.

Sorry Paulie. I'll be there in Scout, however. Maybe Clint will be in Bleat?

At least you'll be there. That's something.

Wow. I want to be sad. BUT I WILL NOT! I will toast to IAZP (later tonight) and smile knowing that she served her builder well and will continue to bring joy to someone else equally as worthy/lucky.
I wish I could make it to SRR but it's just not in the cards this summer (THIS summer...). As a consolation prize, I am making plans with my brother to sail the Around Long Island Regatta instead. But enough about me...
LONG LIVE I AM ZINEA, PTERODACTYLUS!!!

A historical post indeed Christophe.
I think you got an enormous amount of good use from IAZ,P - that's the best criterion for a successful ownership. We have all enjoyed the ride very much through your writing here and the blog. Glad the blog continues!
