Default MG TC 1947--49 1/8 scale

After months of other works to complete I have finally got around to starting this model. I consider the wheels one of the parts that sets the model size and shape.
The rims are 60mm diam with 24 spokes as many as I could manage on 1/8 scale ,they are cut from 1.5 mm bronze welding rod.
Indexing for drilling holes required 12 different set ups,as the spacing of the spokes is set on the inside of the rim, also they are splayed from the rim to the hub.
The hubs are myrtle , rims jelutong and tyres red cedar. Only to pleased to answer any queries. Joihn.

Good looking wheels, it will be good to see the rest of it,
My dad owned a MG TC, not sure which year, it was sold before I came along, he and his mechanic friend managed to get 100mph out of it, just one of the stories he would tell.

Best looking set of homemade or commercial wheels I have seen.

I am just starting the model building fun and most spook wheels for models are not what I think they should look like. I refuse to buy ready made wheels, I want to make my own. Yours are great! I'm wondering if you would be willing to share more about you jig you have made to drill on the lathe. I have one built to work on my drill press, but would still like to build one for my lathe also. I think it could be used for lots of things on the lathe beyond making wheels. I am not engineer enough to figure it out.

Can't wait so see the rest of your model. Love to watch the progress and I learn a lot as I watch.

In my early twenties I would have loved one, now that I could afford one I couldn't get my legs in let alone my bum on the seat. John.
