    Do you think you need to use a firm broom to give it a good scrub or is it just a matter of spreading it with any old broom and letting the acid do the work.

    I've got my acid and I'm about a week away from doing the biz.

    In my experience a soft nylon broom works best. All you are doing with the broom is spreading the acid around, no need to scrub at all. Once an area stops bubbling sweep over it again as there may still be some efflorescence there but the bubbling has stopped because the acid has been neutralized. quick sweep over provides fresh acid. Keep sweeping it over until you cant get any more bubbling to occur. It will not damage the broom unless it picks up something else from the shed floor. the acid would only serve to clean it.
