    Default Clamp Corner -Finally

After a few years of gathering clamps but having them spread over different parts of the shed, I finally got around to creating a clamp corner. Now I know where to find them and where to return them.......

Looks great! I just printed out the plans for these racks also from aust woodsmith. Very neat and tidy looking. Do you find your at capacity or can you expand and still have it all or organized? You can never have enough clamps!

    delbs,

I have plenty of room for expansion, The set of shelves on the right can be moved and those sheets of MDF that hold the assorted clamps are 2 full sheets fixed horizontally so I have Clamp Wall space of 2.4m wide by 2.4m high and I have only used about 1m.

I can unscrew the racks and move them around to suit any configuration.

The thing that gave me the most enjoyment is that the 2 full sheets of MDF is all that I have gone out and purchased. The MDF backing on the left, rack materials & screws were already in the shed. The larger clamp material is 25mm ply salvaged from pallets which were used to carry ATM machines. The bloke down the road let me have them for nothing as he would have chucked them away.....unfortunately he has moved premises and I can not get anymore.

I think your problem is that you have too many clamps!

As a gesture of forum helpfulness I'll reluctantly make room for some in my little fibro shed

or my Irwin 600mm Pros...or my Irwin 150mm.....The most useless ones for woodwork is those dinky 75mm G clamps, but I use them when welding.

Anyway there is NO such situation when a person has "too many clamps"...you know that.

Just a reminder for anyone needing an excuse to expand their clamp collection, Bunnings have the Irwin 300mm Pro 2-pack for just under $40 (normal price is $37ish for just one) on special until sold out. Still a few boxes full at my local.

Now if they would be kind enough to do a 2-pack deal on the 600mm and others that would be grand.

Nice set of Jet's there. I don't see any clamp joiners though - the Bessey and Craftsman extenders can be made to fit and do a good job.
If I build a clamp centre in my shed can you come round and teach me to put them back where they belong when I'm finished with them?

aldav, no clamp joiners...I have 4 x 50" Jets so I'll make do with them.

I had a look at the bessey joiners and might be able to make something up with some aluminium extrusion I have in the shed if required.

Nicely done on the clamp rack. Organization is the key to perfect woodworking, something that I have yet to achieve.

I asked about them at my local store to see if it was a sale price for a limited time, they said no, they are special item not usually stocked so the price will stick until they are sold out. As mentioned, my local store still has a few boxes full and considering I've got 6+ stores within a 5-10km radius, I'm guessing they're still easy to find.

    Very neat! Well done!

What stops the handles of the Bessey clamps from falling down to the end of the clamp?
