    Default Remade tow truck

    Hi,

Finally got some time in my shed. Have been on the road across this great country of ours. 8000 kms in 3 weeks providing federal government assistance to drought stricken farmers. To see the resilience and strength in these farmers has been humbling. Downside is not being home with the family and less shed time. I know the importance of really being home when I am home. Upside is I now have access to lots of timber.

A couple of years ago I made my eldest boy a tow truck because he loved mater from Cars. Unfortunately his little brother took exception to it and broke the tow mechanism. The truck has sat in my shed awaiting on on me getting inspiration which finally arrived. I have turned it into a semi trailer with a ramp with a basic helicopter. Both my boys love the truck and helicopter. I am still trying to work out what to do with the area behind the cab. Any ideas Crowie?

    Default Semi-Trailer

    Hi toddbron,

Excellent job on your semi-trailer. Behind the cab you could add another small trailer. Just add a turntable for the small trailer. Here is one I did some years
ago it might give you some ideas. Charleville is beautiful country I grew up out
there. Live in Cheepie and Cooladdi in the mid 60s I want go out there to see all again some day. That is the best country around. I hope this helps.

    G'Day Todd......
Firstly, well done and thank you for the rural report; personally I really feel for the farmers who are the backbone of our vast country.....
I hope it's all above board on the timber and the "cash for comment" people won't be chasing you in years to come..... ....
I worked in procurement for many years and it was always a huge juggling act to kept ones integrity.....
[The world still revolves around people and contacts; and not numbers, computers and reports...well done on making the relationships with farmer, blokes in the bush, as they sure need extra friends, someone to just keep in touch with & say, "how are you going, mate".]
Good to hear you have some family & shed time now; both equally important to a bloke....

The truck conversation looks tops and the boys will love it to bits....
I also like Graham's idea...my suggestion is add a jib crane and then a flattop trailer as the first trailer using Graham's "B Double" suggestion.
I'm sure from what I've seen of your imagination and skills, you'll make it work...
    Cheers crowie
