Usually yes, just you pay like everyone else, but you can sometimes get to use someone else's lathe.

ps the local event to you similar to TurnSA is Q-Turn, held at Lake Moogerah 3rd week in June. It is run by the Ipswich club, and the strange thing is that the Gold Coast club is the closest, but I am the only one that has attended

Let's see if we can't change that for next year..

So, I popped in and was duly impressed. A lot of guys strutting their stuff. Learn't a bit and met a few great blokes. Will try to get to the full event next year.

All over and everyone had a great time. My first TurnSA (I didn't make it to SATurn either) and it was great. The shed was MASSIVE so plenty of room to spread out and all with a level slab and plenty of 15amp power points. The shed was so large we could drive in, unpack and set up, then do a u-turn within the shed to leave. Some even camped down the back of the shed .

Each of these events has its own flavour or style that helps to make it unique. TurnSA was no different with the town of Lucindale getting behind the event to make it a great success. A huge thanks goes out to the generous people of this town and to Ray and Heather Cottee for taking on the job of rekindling SATurn. We also need to acknowledge the Murrayland Turners who made sure the event could be insured.
I had a wonderful time and encourage you to come along next year to help make TurnSA an even better event. There's plenty of room
Lucindale is well positioned to be not too far to a number of Western Vic towns so it would be great to see the Vics outnumber the South Aussies.
And don't forget Grampians U Turn next year in early MAY.

For an event like this it is great.

between each main upright there is 3 power points and hanging from the centre of each gable is another lead so could quite easily handle a lot of machinery, plenty of room to move around and the floor was flat as a tack so no need to pack the lathes to get level.

Drive in access from both ends and sides.

Hi as a travelling nomad I wish to be able to attend some events as a spectator and perhaps to turn if I have my lathe on board.
It would be great for a thread with instructions for events such as UTurn events etc such as the Grampian one as I am trying to plan to attend next year.
What we need is directions such as addresses and or GPS bearings so we can plan when we are from another state or even not familiar with local areas and not connected to the club etc.
